Engineering University of Sialkot
A project has been set up for building Sialkot Engineering University by the end of 2007 having world class standards. It will be able to admit engineering students by the end of 2008. Sweden’s Royal Institute
of Technology is the joint collaborator behind the establishment of this
University. Along the locality of Engineering University, the vital Sialkot-Lahore
Motorway will pass by. Also a Technology Park may comprise the premises of this University.
The government of Pakistan has established a project with
technologically advanced countries for developing new engineering universities in
six cities of Pakistan and development of Sialkot Engineering University is the
proof of this fact. The development of campus will
be financed by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan while technical support
and issues like course contents specification, university management, and human
resource development will be implemented by Sweden’s
Royal Institute of Technology. Swedish institute’s specifications will be followed
while developing campuses and laboratories. It
is estimated that 100 Ph.D. students will be enrolled in this University
per year.
This will be one of the six new engineering universities to be established in different cities of Pakistan in collaboration
with technologically-advanced countries as announced by the Pakistan's Government.
